Submission to OHCHR on Just Transition and Human Rights

The focus of this submission is the use of state-imposed forced labour of Uyghurs and other Turkic and Muslim-majority peoples in the supply chains of businesses that are central to a just transition, including the solar and electric vehicle (EV) battery industries. The ongoing human rights crisis in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (Uyghur Region) poses a severe challenge to a just transition as it denies the full realisation of human rights of impacted communities.
